Menopause wellness retreat in Spain at Palasiet
Vital Menopause
If you are dealing with hot flushes, night sweats, disrupted sleep, brain fog or mood changes, and feel like you have not been getting the support you need, this programme was built for you. The Vital Menopause retreat at Palasiet combines genuine medical supervision with the therapeutic properties of Mediterranean seawater, personalised nutrition and tailored movement, to help you understand what is happening in your body and actually do something about it.
This is not a yoga retreat with a menopause workshop bolted on. It is a week-long medical wellness programme, run by doctors, nutritionists and specialists, in a place that has been treating people with seawater therapies since 1963.
What this menopause retreat sets out to do
1. A personalised menopause diagnosis
Every woman experiences menopause differently. Our programme offers a comprehensive assessment to evaluate its impact on physical, emotional, and hormonal well-being, allowing us to design a personalised plan tailored to your needs.
2. Restoring physical and emotional balance
Through specialist treatments, relaxation techniques, and a tailored menopause exercise programme, we help reduce menopause-related discomfort and restore energy levels during this transformative stage.
3. Reducing the impact of hormonal changes
The programme combines clinical treatments with holistic therapies to address the physical and emotional effects of changing hormone levels. The goal is not to push through the symptoms, it is to genuinely reduce them.
4. Building habits that last beyond the week
Nutrition and movement are cornerstones of menopause wellbeing. The plans we put together here are designed to be sustainable — things you can actually maintain when you go home, not a regime that only works at a retreat.
5. Personalised support and guidance
We guide each woman through her own experience of this transition, giving her the understanding and tools to face it with confidence rather than uncertainty. That means honest conversations, not generic advice.

What the programme does for you
The physical changes you can expect
The combination of thalassotherapy and medical-grade treatment is what makes a week at Palasiet different from other menopause retreats in Europe. The warm Mediterranean seawater your body absorbs during treatment is rich in magnesium, iodine and calcium — minerals that directly support bone density, ease joint pain and improve circulation at a point in life when the body needs them most.
Most guests notice a reduction in hot flush frequency by the middle of the week. Sleep tends to improve from the second or third night. Joint stiffness, which many women in perimenopause or menopause find particularly disruptive, responds well to the seawater circuit. By the end of the stay, the physical changes are usually visible — better skin, more energy, less pain.
How it affects your mood and mental clarity
Brain fog, mood swings and the kind of flat, joyless tiredness that menopause brings are not just hormonal — they also have a physical dimension. Magnesium deficiency, poor sleep and chronic low-level stress all play a role. The menopause wellness programme at Palasiet works on all of these at once: the seawater treatments help regulate the nervous system, the nutrition plan addresses deficiencies, and the pace of the week — structured but unhurried, by the sea — gives the mind the conditions it needs to settle.
Women who arrive describing brain fog and emotional exhaustion almost always leave feeling clearer. That is not a marketing claim — it is what we hear consistently, from guests who were sceptical when they arrived.

Comprehensive diagnosis and medical supervision
Before any treatment starts, a doctor from our team sits down with you for a full health assessment, hormonal analysis, physical evaluation, a conversation about your symptoms and what you want to get out of the week. That consultation shapes everything: your thalassotherapy plan, your nutrition programme, your exercise sessions. It is the difference between a medically supervised menopause programme and a week of nice treatments with no clear direction.
Our doctors stay involved throughout your stay. If something is not working or your body is responding differently to what was expected, the plan is adjusted. Most of our guests tell us this level of attention is something they have simply never experienced before, and for many women, that is no surprise.
Nutrition and diet for a balanced menopause
Hormonal changes affect the way the body processes food, stores fat and manages energy — which is why so many women notice weight gain, bloating and energy crashes during perimenopause and menopause that have nothing to do with eating more or exercising less. Our nutritionist works with each guest individually to design a meal plan that addresses these metabolic shifts, supports bone density and actually tastes good. Food here is part of the treatment, not an afterthought.
Exercise adapted to every stage of menopause
Exercise is one of the most effective tools for managing menopause symptoms — from improving sleep and lifting mood to protecting bone density and supporting cardiovascular health. Our programme includes a functional assessment with a personal trainer, who will design a low-impact plan adapted to where you are right now.
Through targeted sessions, we work on mobility, strength and flexibility, helping to reduce the physical impact of hormonal changes. Mindful movement and personalised training work together to improve circulation, stabilise mood and give you the energy to make the most of your time here.
Personalised guidance to enhance your health and well-being
During your stay, you will receive specialist guidance and personalised support to help you better understand the changes you are experiencing and enhance your menopause wellness.
Our team of experts will provide tailored advice, helping you develop self-awareness, self-care, and emotional balance to navigate menopause with serenity.
Through active listening and personalised consultations, we will equip you with the knowledge and tools to adopt healthy habits that contribute to long-term well-being.
Aesthetic evaluation and personalised treatments
Menopause changes the skin too — dryness, loss of firmness, uneven tone, changes in texture that standard skincare does not always address. Our aesthetic specialists carry out a full skin and body assessment, then design a treatment plan around what your skin specifically needs at this stage.
Using advanced techniques and medical-grade skincare, we focus on hydration, firmness and radiance. These treatments sit alongside the rest of the programme — not as extras, but as part of a complete approach to how you feel and look during menopause.
Rely on expertly designed routes, give yourself a few weeks of special focus, or choose to just be here.

Why come to Palasiet for your menopause retreat?
A medical clinic, not a wellness hotel
Palasiet has been treating medical conditions using seawater since 1970. We did not add a menopause programme to our wellness menu — we built the menopause retreat around clinical expertise that has been here for over fifty years. Our team includes doctors, gynaecologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and aesthetic specialists who work together on each guest’s programme. This is what a menopause clinic in Spain looks like when it is done properly.
The thalassotherapy at Palasiet is not a saltwater pool. It is a 2,700 m² bio-marine circuit that uses real Mediterranean seawater, pumped directly from offshore, warmed to therapeutic temperature and used in a clinical context. For women in perimenopause or menopause, the combination of mineral-rich seawater with a structured medical wellness programme produces results that a spa break simply cannot match. We were recognised as Best Luxury Thalassotherapy Spa in Europe at the World Luxury Spa Awards 2023.
We are in Benicassim, on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, 50 metres from the beach and 45 minutes from Valencia airport. We are open all year round.
What our guests tell us
The women who come to Palasiet for a menopause wellness retreat tend to say the same things: the medical team took their symptoms seriously from day one, the thalassotherapy did more for their sleep and hot flushes than they expected, and the combination of being by the sea with a clear daily structure made it possible to properly switch off for the first time in months.
Many come having spent years managing symptoms alone, or feeling dismissed in GP appointments. Some come on medical recommendation. A significant number come back every year as part of their long-term menopause health plan.

FAQs about the menopause vital programme
Is this programme suitable for women experiencing early menopause?
Yes. The programme is adapted to every stage of the menopause transition, including early and surgical menopause. Our medical team carries out an individual assessment at the start of your stay to ensure the programme addresses your specific hormonal situation and symptoms.
Why does a holistic approach matter during menopause?
Because menopause is not just hormonal. It affects sleep, mood, weight, skin, bones, energy, cognition and emotional wellbeing — often all at once. A programme that addresses only one of those dimensions will always feel incomplete. At Palasiet, medical care, nutrition, thalassotherapy, exercise and aesthetic support are designed to work together.
How will this improve my daily life after I leave?
The aim is not to give you a temporary respite. It is to send you home with a clear understanding of what your body needs during this stage, a nutrition plan you can stick to, an exercise routine that suits you and the habits that will make a difference over the months and years ahead. The week is the starting point, not the whole thing.
What symptoms does the programme specifically address?
The programme is designed to address the full range of menopause symptoms, including hot flushes and night sweats, disrupted sleep and insomnia, brain fog and difficulty concentrating, mood swings and anxiety, weight gain and changes to body composition, joint pain and loss of bone density, and changes to skin including dryness and loss of firmness. Your initial medical assessment determines which symptoms to prioritise.
Is this a medical programme or a wellness retreat?
It is genuinely both — but the medical element is not decorative. Every guest has a doctor-led assessment on arrival, a treatment plan that is built and adjusted by qualified clinicians, and daily access to our medical team throughout the stay. We are not a wellness retreat that added menopause workshops to the schedule. We are a medical clinic that also happens to be a beautiful place to stay by the sea. Many of our guests come precisely because they have not felt properly heard or treated by their GP, and they want to be taken seriously.
How does thalassotherapy help with menopause symptoms?
Seawater is rich in magnesium, calcium, iodine and potassium — minerals that have a direct relationship with the symptoms of menopause. Magnesium supports better sleep and reduces anxiety; calcium and iodine help maintain bone density at a time when oestrogen decline accelerates bone loss; the circulation-boosting effects of the thermal seawater circuit help reduce hot flush frequency and improve overall energy. The bio-marine circuit at Palasiet combines thermal pools, underwater jet treatments and dynamic baths to deliver these benefits in a clinical context — not just a relaxing soak.
What is the difference between perimenopause and menopause?
Perimenopause is the transition phase that can begin several years before your last period. Hormone levels start to fluctuate irregularly, and you may start noticing hot flushes, night sweats, irregular periods, mood changes and sleep disruption — often years before menopause is formally diagnosed. Menopause itself is confirmed after twelve consecutive months without a period. Postmenopause follows and can bring its own longer-term health considerations, particularly around bone density and cardiovascular health. The Palasiet programme is designed for all three stages.
How do I get there from the UK?
Palasiet is in Benicassim, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, about 70 km north of Valencia. Valencia airport (VLC) has direct flights from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh, typically one to two hours. A transfer from the airport to Palasiet takes around 55 minutes. It is one of the more straightforward menopause holidays in Spain to reach from the UK — easier than Mallorca or Andalusia for most guests.
