Benefits of the yoga and meditation retreat
What it does for your body
Daily yoga improves flexibility, joint mobility and muscular strength, and gently corrects the postural habits that build up from sitting at a desk. The thalassotherapy circuit complements this directly: the warm seawater reduces inflammation, eases muscle tension and supports recovery between sessions in a way that no freshwater spa can replicate.
Most guests notice a difference in their sleep within the first couple of days. By the end of the week, the physical changes, in how they move, how they feel and how they’re holding themselves, tend to be quite visible.
What it does for your mind
Stress has a physical dimension that thinking your way out of it doesn’t address. The guided meditation and breathwork in this retreat work on the nervous system directly, lowering cortisol and encouraging a genuine state of calm rather than just the feeling of it.
The setting helps. Benicassim is quiet, the sea is fifty metres away and there isn’t much to do apart from be present. Most guests find that the calm they discover here doesn’t just last for the holiday, it follows them home.

Luxury yoga retreat programme
Our luxury yoga retreat is structured around a daily rhythm that balances movement, stillness and restoration. Mornings begin with a yoga session, drawing on Hatha, Vinyasa or Yin depending on the day, followed by guided meditation and breathwork. The style and intensity of each session are adapted to the group, so whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, you’ll always be working at the right level.
The afternoons open up around the bio-marine thalassotherapy circuit: thermal seawater pools, underwater jet beds, dynamic baths, a Finnish sauna and a Turkish bath. The circuit isn’t simply a perk of the hotel, it’s designed to work alongside the yoga, helping your body recover between sessions and absorb the physical work of each day. Throughout your stay, our wellness team is on hand to personalise your programme and make sure you’re getting the most from your time here.

Why choose Palasiet for your yoga retreat in spain?
Over sixty years of marine wellness
Palasiet has been running medically-supervised wellness programmes since 1971, and thalassotherapy has been at the heart of everything we do since the beginning. That history is the reason the bio-marine circuit here works at a clinical level rather than a decorative one — and why our approach to a yoga retreat in Spain is genuinely different from what most centres offer. In 2023 we were awarded Best Luxury Thalassotherapy Spa in Europe at the World Luxury Spa Awards, which reflects the standard we hold ourselves to.
We’re in Benicassim on the Costa del Azahar, fifty metres from the sea and forty-five minutes from Valencia. We’re open all year round, which puts us in a different category from the retreats in Mallorca, Ibiza and Andalusia that close over winter.
What our guests tell us
The feedback we hear most consistently after a yoga retreat at Palasiet comes down to three things: the quality of the natural setting, the personalised care from our team, and the way the yoga and thalassotherapy work together in a way that neither does on its own.
Many guests say it’s the first time they’ve truly switched off rather than just changed location. The hotel is small and quiet by design, and the daily programme creates a rhythm that makes real rest possible in a way that purely unstructured time away often doesn’t.

We’re in Benicassim, 70 km from Valencia — around 45 minutes by car or high-speed train. When is Palasiet open? Is there a best time of year to come?
We’re open all year round, which sets us apart from many yoga retreats in Spain that operate only in spring and summer. The Mediterranean microclimate in Benicassim means mild winters, warm springs and long gentle autumns — there’s genuinely no bad time to come. Spring (March to June) and early autumn (September to November) tend to be the most popular, when temperatures are ideal and the hotel is at its quietest.
